Danly Farms

Mary Danly and Barbara Baresh founded Danly Farms in the summer of 2005. The following year, Mary and Barbara realized the demand for local healthy produce and marketed their vegetables to several venues within the community. In 2008, Danly Farms earned the Certified Organic certificate for their vegetables, fruits, and herbs.

 

Located on the east side of Laurel, Danly Farms has grown beyond the diverse organic specialty crops, and has added organic eggs, organic heritage turkeys, organic broiler chickens, organic fertilizers and amendments, organic potting soil, and organic heirloom tomato plants. Currently, Danly Farms is the only certified organic market farm in Yellowstone County and surrounding areas.

Every year, Mary and Barbara continue to expand their growing area to keep up with the increased demand. Mary says, “When the difference matters,” the farm’s slogan, “people who are looking for alternative local and organic products find us and support our farm.”

“Our loyal customers are more than consumers to us,” Barbara adds, “they are the backbone of our farm who keep us going especially when the going gets tough.”

Danly Farms also started the first CSA program in the area, where subscribers can pick up a box of fresh produce right at the farm every week during the growing season. “This way people can see what we do and puts a face on our products,” Mary expresses.
